Text Engine Consulting, Inc. has worked for two years with the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), the world’s leading association of security and incident-response teams, to create three core incident-response courses now available for download via the FIRST.Org website under a Creative Commons license. The release of the courses coincides with the release of FIRST’s open training platform to host the organization’s training content, which allows FIRST members and other interested parties to enroll in self-paced elearning courses on cybersecurity incident response.
The courses for which Text Engine Consulting provided the instructional design are:
- Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) v3, an elearning course that teaches a standard for communicating the characteristics and severity of software vulnerabilities through examples and simulations.
- FIRST CSIRT Basic Course, which teaches the basics of Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) tasks. The course includes extensive lab practicum sessions.
- FIRST Fusion Course, which gives incident-response professionals methods to analyze and fuse information. The course includes links to data-analyzation tools that allow businesses and organizations to better respond to security threats.
